I love that June weekends were sunny because:

June 12 was Dog Tag Day and Roam the X Travel Fair at Cubao X. The sun was really hot and like everyone else, we waited as the lines slowly moved towards the dog tag booths. The tags serves as a pass to the concert grounds where more booths were located hence the wall photos we took. We didn’t stay long to watch the concerts, though.

Afterwards, we headed to Cubao X for the travel fair and the launch of Roam Magazine’s second issue. There were some photo exhibits, different booths selling different stuffs and the We Will Doodle Team was also there to grace the event.

Then last Saturay, Mark and I agreed on heading to Manila via the Pasig Ferry. We rode the ferry from Guadalupe station to Escolta. I wasn’t able to take a lot of photos, though. Even Malacanang was prohibited from having its photo taken.

This is my view from the ferry. Lots of water lillies float on the river like in the photo above.

 This is a nice view of the back of the Manila Post Office from the Escolta Ferry Station.

 The reason for our Manila tour is to find an old building for our prenup venue. The older the building the better. I like the smell of old building interiors. We scoured Escolta and the nearby streets to look for buildings. The structure which is on the upper part of the photo is the First United Building or formerly Perez-Samanillo Buidling. It houses the first ever elevator in the country. How cool is that? Unfortunately, I just found out this morning that they don’t allow photoshoots inside the premises. Boo!

The photo at the lower portion of the image is the Natividad building. It’s currently undergoing renovation but I love the facade. The interiors were already renovated.

The hallway in these photos were of Regina Building’s. It was built in the 1930s and they won’t allow photoshoots too. We finally found an old building that we like. It’s called Martinez-Leyba building found at Dasmarinas corner Tomas Pinpin streets. I have with me the numbers to call. I hope they will allow us.

 We visited Sta Cruz Church before we headed to Quiapo.

The Carriedo Fountain found in Plaza Sta. Cruz, Manila was built in 1882 to honor “Manila’s greatest benefactor” Francisco Carriedo y Pedero who donated Php 10,000 to install the very first water system in Manila. The fountain originally stood in Rotonda de Sampaloc until it was transferred to its present site in 1978. After some time, the authorities had the fountain brought to Quezon City when the MWSS’s main office was transferred from Arroceros to Balara. However, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim negotiated with MWSS Administrator Luis Sison for the fountain to be brought back to Manila. The MWSS immediately commissioned national artist Napoleon Abueva to create a replica of the Carriedo Fountain to replace the original structure which now stands in its original home in Sta. Cruz.

Yesterday, together with my parents, we went to Binondo to hear our choice choir sing. Their voices tell me I’m in heaven.

 This is how the altar looks like. It’s beautiful My grandparents were married here and even if I wasn’t born yet at the time, I feel like it brings back memories.

I had a grand time going around the city especially Manila. Thanks to the weather too because most of the days were sunny and sunny days are always the perfect time to roam.
